If you like Buffalo wings like I do, then here’s your chance to chow down on some of the area’s best to your heart’s content.
On Wednesday, July 20th, il Monticello Restaurant in Meriden will be the site of the 1st Annual “Wing”-ing It Event where locals will converge to decide who has the best Buffalo wings in four categories:
- Most Original
- Favorite
- Hottest
- Best Overall
Hosted by The Meriden Record-Journal, admission is $10 and the event begins at 5:30 PM and runs until 7:30 PM. Get there early and inquire at the door about the 2 Alarm Fire Wing Eating Contest that will take place at 7 PM. There are only six spots available and pre-registration is required.
The stellar list of vendors taking part in the Best Wing competition is as follows:

- Charlie’s Pizza
- Green Olive Diner
- Rimini Pizza
- Rosie’s Cafe
- Ryder’s on Main
- Scotty O’Boyles’s Cafe
- The Arc Eatery
- Wing Street (Pizza Hut)
There will also be live entertainment and a cash bar, so get your wings a-flappin’ and get down to il Monticello Restaurant and enjoy the feast! il Monticello is located at 577 South Broad Street in Meriden.
