If not, you’d better get with it because it’s Back To School time once again! While kids everywhere are dreading the end of Summer Vacation, their parents are giddy with anticipation at the prospect of a quiet house once again.
Here is a listing of important dates in the Meriden Public Schools for the 2012-13 school year:
August 29: First day of school
September 3: School closed for Labor Day
October 5: Professional development day, school closed
October 8: School closed for Columbus Day
November 2: End of middle/high school marking period
November 6: Professional development day, school closed
November 9: Report cards issued in middle/high schools
November 12: School closed for Veteran’s Day
November 21: Shortened day (End of elementary school marking period)
December 3 – 5: Report cards issues in elementary schools
December 24 – January 1: Christmas Break
January 18: End of middle/high school marking period
January 21: School closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day
January 25: Report cards issued in middle/high schools
February 18 – 22: Winter Break
March 8: End of elementary school marking period
March 18 – 20: Report cards issued in elementary schools
March 29: School closed for Good Friday
April 5: End of middle/high school marking period
April 12: Report cards issued in middle/high schools
April 15 – 19: Spring Break
May 27: School closed for Memorial Day
June 14: Last day of school, shortened day
The first five days lost due to weather (snow days) will be made up at the end of the school year. Any days beyond that will be made up at the end of April vacation period.
