If your home was impacted by either Hurricane Sandy or Blizzard Charlotte, or if you’re just planning a new home project and you’re looking for some ideas, then we’ve got just the event you’re looking for!
Taking place this weekend, February 23rd and 24th, at Wallingford’s Oakdale Theater, the 14th Annual New Haven County Home Show brings together a boatload of exhibitors offering everything from building and remodeling, home security, and water purification to solar power, pools and spas, and landscaping services, just to name a few. Just because it’s still Winter (like the piles of snow outside aren’t enough of a reminder!), it doesn’t mean you have to wait until Spring to get out and get some ideas for your next home project, or home purchase.
An added attraction at this year’s show is cooking seminars by Chef Debra Queen, star of WTNH TV’s “CT Style” show. The seminars will run on Saturday after 3PM, and all day on Sunday. Chef Debra has been a Certified Executive Chef with the American Culinary Federation since 1994 and is also a member of the American Personal & Private Chef’s Association. She refers to her cuisine as “Modern Upscale Comfort Food”, developed using scratch style methods and clean, organic, unprocessed foods combined in interesting and unique presentations with an emphasis on small plates with big flavors.
Cost of admission for the two day event is $7.00 per adult, and children 12 and under get in free. Also, if you click the image below you can get a coupon for a FREE adult general admission pass. The hours of operation will be 11am to 7pm on the 18th, and 11am to 5pm on Sunday. There is plenty of free parking available.
